AGM
2006-12-14
Disappointing end to the year, as the attendance at the
A.G.M. and Christmas Draw / Quiz-Night came as a big let
down to those Members whom have spent many hard hours
working throughout the year for the benefit of all
Members.!
At the A.G.M. many items were reported on and the
previous years work, by the Officers and the Committee and
the reasoning, in part , was explained.!
Also thanks were given to those people who supported and
helped the Club throughout the year.
There was an update on the future of the Club and the
situation with the Landlords about the Lease and future
development of the land was also explained.
The Draw Night was very entertaining with Ex-Captain
Peter Squibb as Quiz Master you can imagine that the short
quiz (supplied admirably by his wife Julia ) was full of
laughter!
This was followed by Captain Bob Mather skilfully
mastering the Computerised Draw Machine! what with Stuart
Hensall as an M.C. with a bad throat it was a riot!
The food provided by Veronica and Kit was a treat and we
would encourage all of you to try and book the Sunday Lunch
while there are spaces!
The list of Draw Winners is on the Notice Board. Thank
those Members that purchased a ticket that produced the
great prizes, that Stuart and his Wife selected ,were
gratefully received by the winners and next year we will
start earlier and obtain even better Prizes.
Also thanks to all those that came to Captain Peter’s
Dinner Dance, hope you all had a good time.
Congratulations to the Trophy Winners, the Captains
presentation was the funniest yet!
The Clubhouse will be open over the Holiday period and the
times will be displayed on the Notice Board at the
Bar.
It is hoped that the Course will be open as much as
possible during this period It will only be closed because
of extreme weather conditions. No one at this Club closes
the Course unless it is absolutely necessary as the problem
then is when to reopen!
Please follow instructions about Trolley use and please use
common sense in where you walk and try to keep to those
areas marked on the Map (which is on the Notice Board in
the Locker room).
Fog is a problem and there may be a decision to close
which will be updated as the day goes on. The gorse being
in view at the end of the first is a good sign, however if
the Course is still closed then it may well be that the 4th
is still dangerous . So please Take Care!! |
